Canoeing, fly fishing, hiking, and picnicking along the river are among the activities visitors can do in the park. The park has a campground with 95 sites along the river.  Fact Box Talcott Mountain Simsbury, Connecticut Created 1965 574 acres Website: http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325272&deepNav_GID=1650 Talcott Mountain State Park is located in northern Connecticut, with its centerpiece being the 950-feet mountain it is named for. The 165-foot high Heublein Tower stands atop Talcott Mountain, and offers spectacular views of nearby Hartford and the surrounding forests. Visitors can hike the 1.25-mile trail to the top of the mountain, picnic, take in the vistas, and see the museum inside of the Heublein Tower. Fact Box Dinosaur Rocky Hill, Connecticut Created 1968 63 acres Dinosaur State Park, in central Connecticut, contains one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America, with 2,000 early Jurassic fossil tracks which are nearly 200 million years old. 500 of these tracks are at the Exhibit Center's geodesic dome, where visitors can see displays and interactive exhibits on the geology of the area. Visitors can also hike, picnic, and geocache.
