American Films

Although America is not the birthplace of film, it has traditionally been the leader in all things motion pictures -- making the biggest, brightest, and often most beautiful films. From poignant black and white dramas, to gripping, edge-of-your seat thrillers, to blockbuster action flicks, America is at the forefront of cinema. In this section of Amerifo, we profile some of the most acclaimed and popular movies of the last century, as well as highlight some important movie statistics.

This section is done in partnership with the Association of High School Film Clubs (AHSFC), a collaboration based student-run non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a love of classic film and appreciation of its cultural and aesthetic elements among the young people of America.
